Welcome, I'm alice

Hello! I’m Alice Thigpen, mother, wife, and photographer! I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama where I first fell in love with the process of photography. My father was an avid hobbyist, and I grew up spending time assisting him in the darkroom of my childhood home. It wasn’t until I became a mom that I truly began to understand the meaning of photography. As a mom, I saw for myself how fast life goes by and how much I wanted to record and capture my children’s lives, stopping each beautiful moment in its tracks. It was then that I picked back up my camera, working to halt time and capture memories that will last forever. The joy these images bring to my life is what inspired me to become a professional photographer. To this day, I treasure each and every photograph of my family, from snapshots of daily life to the beautiful hand-crafted portraits that hang on the walls of our home.

As my children grew, I further developed my photography and editing skills at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, and I continue to attend workshops and conferences to hone my craft so I can provide the best heirlooms for my clients. My goal with Alice Claire Photography is to capture life’s heartfelt moments in all of its rapidly changing stages, so that you too can continue to have your life’s most beautiful memories frozen in time and displayed on the walls of your home.
